Necto Parish Council
This website is a platform designed to keep you informed of Council activities in and around your village. It is hoped that the Parish Council will be able to provide up-to-date information and news affecting services and facilities within the community. This is also your website, so if you have any relevant news or information of interest then please contact the Clerk in the first instance.
“The Parish Council meets at 7.30pm every first Monday of the month (except Bank Holidays) in the Necton Rural Community Centre, Tuns Road, Necton. You are always invited to attend and time is allocated during the meeting for a public forum where any issues can be raised by you.”
Residents should be aware of the proposals by energy company “Warwick Energy” to submit plans to site an onshore electricity substation to the East of Necton village, just off the A47.
Details of the proposal can be found at www.dudgeonoffshorewindfarmconsultation.co.uk/
A formal planning application is anticipated towards the end of June 2012. The Parish Council would like to encourage all residents and interested parties to inform the Council of their views and opinions. It is vital for the council to be aware of public opinion to enable a representative decision is made.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to inform the Parish Council of your views. You may contact the council by email nectonparishcouncil@hotmail.co.uk or by writing to directly the Parish Clerk at: 31 Field Maple Close, Watton, Norfolk, IP25 6GA.
The Parish Council is currently negotiating with a local landowner to obtain land on the outskirts of Necton suitable for use as allotments.
If you are interested in renting an allotment in the near future please register your interest by contacting the Parish Clerk either by telephone, email, or letter.
I have received a report from the landlord that due to unforeseen logistical difficulties there is likely to be a unscheduled delay in the shops re-opening but he would like the community to know that he remains fully committed to resuming retail services as soon as possible. This is further reinforced by his recent planning application to extend the existing shop premises thereby substantially increasing the shop floor area.
Please continue to visit this site for further updates.
